New Gore Verbinski alert! Saw Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die and it’s an incredibly entertaining satire about time travel, AI, pie, and the sad state of modern tech addiction. Sam Rockwell leads a great cast through a straight up bonkers save-the-world adventure. Out in theaters in January.

This is true and it weirdly works super well. Didn’t expect to end up rooting for the crazed ax murderer, but it was a welcome surprise. Dug this one a lot.

I really dug the latest VHS. Halloween is definitely my vibe and it’s going to be a great regular seasonal watch. Casper Kelly’s segment brings all the Too Many Cooks style weirdness and is super gory and funny. Not a bad segment in the bunch!

I really, really didn’t like Eddington. I haven’t had such a visceral negative reaction to a movie in a long time. Like, everybody is good in the movie but man did I totally bounce off of the story and premise.

Box office does not equate to quality. If Superman were to bomb this weekend (and I don’t think it will) I wouldn’t love it any less. That said, it would be nice to see it make bank just so all the worst parts of fandom melt down into puddles of teary rage. Petty? Maybe. But honest!

Ha, I cross-posted my Superman reaction on BlueSky and X. One of those posts immediately got inundated with DC/Snyder Bros and the other didn’t. Guess which one.

Trailers for Superman didn’t really move the needle for me much. I was excited to see it because of Gunn’s track record more than hyped up by the marketing. I’m pleased to report that I fucking loved it. Full of energy and a big beating heart at the center. I’m suddenly invested in the new DC era.

Jurassic World Rebirth is the Jurassic Park 3 of the Jurassic World films. Some great set pieces, charismatic central characters that I never fully bought into, and it leans into the jungle horror of the series. Bonus points for all the Jaws nods.
