I admire the hutzpah of sites like comicbookmovie.com, which will breathlessly report on every rumor, leak, and spoiler for a film like AVENGERS: ENDGAME and then post an editorial on how Marvel Studios is to blame for the whole ass movie being spoiled for them a half a year before it's released.

I am an absolute sucker for a cool werewolf toy. Even if it's for a decidedly uncool movie like VAN HELSING. This 2004 figure from Jakks Pacific has two of maybe the greatest werewolf toy gimmicks ever put to plastic.

I just signed the lease on my new and used PlayStation game store. It’s going to take a while to remodel and people may think it’s weird to focus on a single company’s library but the heart wants what it wants. I can’t wait to open the doors in 2028. My wife and I thought we were going to be a catless house after we got our dog Bingo, since her prey drive was so high. Turns out, we just needed to find the right cat. Meet Flynnery Toothsuff Sereno III, AKA Flynn. It took a special kind of cat to hold his own against our dogs. Flynn is that cat.

I'm extremely late to the game, but Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen: Who Killed Jimmy Olsen? is an incredible celebration of comic books. One of the funniest series I've read in years, the book by Matt Fraction, Steve Lieber, and more is just cover to cover goodness. Recommended to anybody with a pulse.

I'm breaking up my THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO reread with short stories and novellas. Last night I read WE HAVE ALWAYS LIVED IN THE BREAKROOM by Michael Allen Rose. Fun stuff! Imagine OFFICE SPACE meets CONAN THE BARBARIAN. A clever, brisk read that never wears out the welcome of the overall gag.

I'm reading THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO for the first time since high school. It's startling how petty the reasons are for Dantès' enemies to ruin his life. Jealous about a job, jealous about a gal, a busy-body neighbor. Meanwhile, I'm here accumulating actual vendettas like Pogs in a '90s playground.

MICHAEL - Less movie than sentient montage. I’ve always wondered what would happen if a Greatest Hits album grew legs and lungs and decided to venture onto dry land. Turns out the result is a two hour adaptation of the time I asked Alexa to play some Michael Jackson music while I was in the shower.

Originally published as a series of newspaper articles, Gabriel García Márquez’s is a first person account of a Colombian sailor who survived ten days drifting on a raft without food and water. It’s a brisk read, and perfectly illustrates the utter uselessness of your average seagull.

After weeks of friends recommending it to me, I binged the entire season of WIDOW’S BAY. And you know what? Turns out my friends have pretty good taste. It’s exactly my cup of tea - spooky, funny, surprising and full of copious amounts of Stephen Root. Get your eyeballs on this Very Good ™ show!

I went to a ballet tonight that featured the music of Leonard Cohen. Ladies and gentlemen, they used the Jeff Buckley arrangement of “Hallelujah.” Quibbles aside, the show was great. I love watching talented people do talented things.

I really enjoyed Box Brown's graphic novel biography of Andy Kaufman, IS THIS GUY FOR REAL? It focuses on Kaufman's relationship with wrestling and the parallel worlds Kaufman's comedy and wrestling shared regarding playing rehearsed fantasy as improved reality. Recommended!

I revisited THE HUDSUCKER PROXY last night. A perfect film, from head to toe. I kind of want to rip the audio from my Blu-ray and play it under my pillow at night, so I subconsciously learn to talk like Jennifer Jason Leigh uses in the film. But, then again, that gag's got whiskers on it.

It's been a while since I've read a popcorn comic book as fun as GEIGER. As somebody who fell in love with comics during the '00s, this is the kind of splashy mix of superhero bombast and heart-on-the-sleeve emotions I've missed in my funny books. Big Michael Bay-vibes, and that's a good thing!

Whalefall? More like "Well, hello - I look forward to watching that movie in a theater this fall." (The joke works better when I said it in a funny voice to my dog after watching the trailer)

I wrote a thousand words for a new project, ate a bag of Voodoo chips and watched one of my all time favorite movies, THE HUDSUCKER PROXY. Tonight was a good night.
