I need to read many more books in 2026, but my favourites this year were, with very little contest at all, BLACK FLAME by @scumbelievable.bsky.social and THE BUFFALO HUNTER HUNTER by @sgj.bsky.social. Both of those are real-deal heavyweight horror epics. Unbelievable.

BLACK FLAME was truly electric and also in my top two reads of the year, alongside MOONFLOW by Bitter Karella. Two very different trans books in tone and contents that had a profound effect on me.

I watched all of Stranger Things beginning to end in the last couple weeks and just finished the finale and boy this is gonna be one hell of a patreon essay
