Gotta be at the airport at five in morning and, as usual, I just started packing (had to get my books first). Also, between sick dog, life, and rewriting the novel, I didn’t have time to get a haircut. If you see me at residency rocking the Rican Jewfro, know it’s for art.

For a while I wasn’t sure my dude was coming back from the vet today and…holy fuck. Holy FUCK. I’m not okay. Not gonna be okay for a while. Whatever. Crying happy tears he’s here snoring.

So much “real men” this and “real men” that. Real men pick up their dog’s shit even in the middle of the night when no one’s looking. That’s it. Be decent. Always. Done. That’s a “real man.” What you wear or how you look or who you kiss doesn’t matter. Being decent matters.

My dude got sick (which sent me off the fucking rails because he’s my buddy and I’d slaughter an army with my bare hands for him, like every pet owner), so we went to the vet. Got some rough news/forever meds (more later) but he’s napping next to me now/will be here for a while/got this sweet note.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing folks with perfectly smooth brains that they should post every thought and opinion they have on social media, preferably in all caps.
