Book 2 of 2026: @sgj.bsky.social's The Buffalo Hunter Hunter There was a lot of hype around this one when it came out, but I am here to tell you that it more than lives up to it. Tremendous book, and far stranger than I thought it would be going in. One of the few novels I'd recommend widely.

My last book for 2025 was "The Only Good Indians" by @sgj.bsky.social. It's been so long since I have read a book that unsettled me the way this did. Truly great horror title. Can't wait to read more by them and other Indigenous authors.

I've bought a couple books this year. Did my part to keep my favorites writing. I've also read a few, and I'm comfortable saying that The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by SGJ @sgj.bsky.social was the very best book I've read all year. It's fuckin fantastic! If you haven't read it, shame on you!
