“Blue Skies, Sunny Days”. Sitting up on a hill in the town of Fletcher, Vermont, the Tinker Farm circa 1876 looks down on the Lamoille River valley, Mt. Mansfield and Vermont’s Green Mountains. Taken on 4/8/26. 📸 Ken Rachlis

I manage a group of engineers. Many times I come to them and ask "can we do this?" My favorite is when they say "Sure we can, but the better question is should we?" This generally means my idea is bad. It gives me faith in the process. Then I see something like this...

I learned something new today. I was out on a dairy farm today and the cows were the coolest looking Holsteins I had ever seen. Black and white like oreo cookies. Turns out they are Banded Galloway cows! I had no idea.

Spent yesterday out in the center part of the state. It was boring infiltration testing, but the lack of cell coverage made for a peaceful day. Had a great buddy from the farm with us all day. I didn't get her name, but she sure was cute.

Sometimes you just get an idea in your head and it has to come out and stick to the canvas. Case in point, this recent painting entitled “Field Trip"

Today was opening day, and the parking by the creeks looked like the KOP mall. So we took the boat down to the lake, which was much quieter. A beautiful day all around, but you can call me 007: 0 bites 0 fish 7 hours

Farm conservation at work! I was out working on a roof design for this horse area today. We will direct storm water away, and construct a roof for the loafing area to prevent any potential manure runoff. The stream runs through the background.

I spent a beautiful day walking pastures with a farmer. The entire time, we were followed by a very large bull. It got as close as 4ft at times. The farmer told me there was nothing to worry about, but i was worried. I forgot to take pictures.
