🚨🚨 Just in: Katie Wilson has expanded her lead in the Seattle mayor race. She is now leading by 1,976 votes, which means that the race is no longer in automatic recount territory.

do homeless people genuinely make other people unsafe? or just uncomfortable? And how does that compare to the genuinely unsafe and often significant, life-altering impacts that sweeps have on our unhoused neighbors?

something profoundly broken about people weaponizing their children as a reason that we should continue to invest in sweeping the homeless. Why is sheltering your children from having to see poverty and injustice more important than just building a policy where we eliminate poverty and injustice?

It hasn't received much attention, but the next mayor will shape almost all the 8 year $1.55 billion transportation levy projects. Some have already started, but most haven't, and while the mayoral term goes to 2029 and the levy 2032, SDOT does ~3 year project cycles, so they will all be underway

Think reeeeeaaallll hard about why this same thing, an insane drop in housing production, happened in every city in America immediately after the Civil Rights movement

This Rainier Ave repave project is going to be really exciting. With @alexis4seattle.bsky.social bringing focus to the 7 and stalled out RapidRide R project, we need to leverage this opportunity to show SDOT CAN build complete streets during the maintenance and repaving process.

WA Bikes picked the wrong candidate (Boards do weird things sometimes) but Cascade is still a strong and valuable member of the bike advocacy community. They do a lot of things, publicly and behind the scenes, that move our city forward.

King County’s Green River Trail extension is going to be pretty amazing, but on its north end it will dump you into a busy arterial in South Park.
