I’m almost convinced that so much of it is caused by whatever fucked up method of teaching kids how to read that they’ve been doing in the U.S. that actually sucks ass and results in people being close to illiterate but, god.

I’m also, in most context, a man of few words and especially in writing I tend to weigh everything I write carefully so it drives me up the wall when someone clearly doesn’t read the very few words I write to them when explaining something.

Maybe it’s because I’m mentally ill and take everything too literally but I can’t fathom being like “this thing is misleading because it can be misunderstood if I skim through it”. Words have purposes and meaning little bro!! Don’t skip any of it or else!!

A decade of working on Apps convinced me that users either do not know or refuse to read. You can put a destructive action behind two big ass dialogs that say “Your shit will be GONE, are you sure? Type ‘my shit will be GONE’ to confirm” and ppl will still do it and ask you to reinstate stuff back.

Immigration officers are caught on video violating policy, training, and settled law pretty much every day. The administration just cheers them on. What makes anyone think they're going to implement any of these "guardrails?" They think de-escalation is woke. This is just giving them more money.
