On this day in 2019, I witnessed one of the coolest things ever. A lenticular cloud lit-up by a setting sun over the Perito Morena Glacier in Argentina.

I mean, there's no bad ideas, but personally I think he's spent too much time abroad lately, and should really plan on a couple of weeks helping out in the White House.

Just remembered the time in HS when someone asked what i was reading and i was like "Memoirs of an Invisible Man" and they were (in 2026 terminology) like "omg, James Baldwin? how woke (admiringly)" and I was like " No, H F Saint." and we just stared at each other in confusion for a moment.

My rottie is a dipshit with a job--attention span of a goldfish, can't remember her manners for more than a minute, also can't sit immediately when we leave the house because she has to monitor the area in detail before she relaxes her guard.

Any audio SFF listeners out there? Chirp's current on-sale SFF audio bundles are a little ridiculous rn. Too many fab authors to name them all, but Tamsyn Muir, NK Jemisin, Cherie Priest, Jeff Vandermeer, Charles de Lint, and T Kingfisher to name a few have books in.

The two best ridiculous stories about capitalism which are going to be true any minute now are Kukla Boogie Moon by Eliot Fintushel (Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet #13) and the Robert Rankin story? in which a guy teaches himself to sleep with his eyes open to earn credits from the tv.

The very best thing about music is that sometimes i will hear a song i have heard at least 1000x before and it will still manage to be so lovely this time that i want to cry. Tonight, it was Booth and the Bad Angel, I Believe. Music that i can carry in my pocket will never cease to be a miracle.

There's a guy on Twitter who posted about Rob Reiner's perfect run of films and included North. Every time someone calls out North, he says "Not the time, 2 people are dead." It's making me laugh until I cry, and I'm confident Rob Reiner would have found it hilarious.

You know what’s ripe for a comeback is the Wolves of Willoughby Chase series by Joan Aiken. Smart & non-condescending YA, fantastical without being fantasy, dark and Dickensian as hell, extremely lefty and anticapitalist, a full dozen sequels, amazing Edward Gorey covers.
