Runner, nerd, odd taste in music, easily distracted by cats. He/him. Bisexual.
"Oh, the Arsenal and Gillingham games are both lunchtime kick-offs, that'll set me up for a nice afternoon!" Both goals against Gillingham have come within two minutes of Arsenal conceding. At least my FM career is going well.

[Listening to the Taylor Swift album at 2.5x so I can get this review out before everyone else] I have to say, her pitch is too high on every single song. Disappointing. Incredible breath control singing that fast though

Yes yes YES. Station Eleven is one of the books of the century, and The Glass Hotel and Sea of Tranquility are also incredible. Sheโs got this way like nobody else of nailing the tone of the quiet moments scattered among great tumult.

It's all happening for us train enthusiasts (or is it just me?) as today marks 200 years since the Stockton and Darlington Railway opened in 1825 - the birth of the modern railway. So here are some of the many railway linocuts I have done over the years - too many, I hear you say? Surely notโฆ ๐

It's an odd feeling seeing your team lose 4-1 yet feeling optimistic afterwards. The club bar has a lovely new beer on tap, but that's only like 27% of the reason for it.

Personal achievement later this morning, as The Warning (a band I started listening to in December 2021) will overtake Blood Red Shoes (a band I stopped listening to over eleven years ago) to take fourth place in my all-time most listened to artists.

SPOILER FOR HANDMAIDโS TALE NOVEL: Thinking a lot lately about the importance of the conclusion, where the framing device is revealed. That idea, that Gilead ended, is so much more important than I realized when I first read the book.

Most people understand that recorded music developed out of pasta. Like eg tape was first influenced by pappardelle (reel-to-reel) and later fettuccine (cassette) or records took the idea of a round shape with grooves from rigatoni and instead of sauces, you put music on them, which is like a sauce.

And reinforce that this is systemic - a consequence of US hegemony. It's NOT a personal attack on American journos, youtubers & gamers, but rather a reminder of our differences.

Ten years ago, we got our PS4 and a Batman game, and I had enough time to set it up but not play it as I was off to the Emirates stadium to watch Arsenal play. Today, I've just set up our newly delivered PS5, and downloaded a different Batman game, before going off to the Emirates to watch Arsenal.

Bought a PS5 game tonight! I do not own a PS5. Our PS4 is currently only able to be used in the winter. Our most advanced working games console in the place is an Xbox 360; which is just a fraction ahead of the other one, a Sega Mega Drive II.
