Society requires trust and respect widely shared to function properly. A few years of "fuck your feelings" doesn't just make society worse, it disincentives people from basic empathy to the point of not caring about the social contract.

I've been going basically every day to meet with families and help with whatever small errands I can. It's been heartbreaking to hear their stories and see how scared to death they are. But we have to help, we just have to.

These families have all had one or more people taken, mostly from worksites but others from grocery stores and other local places, so the ones left are scared to leave the house. I have a group I put together that's trying to help locally but we're spread super thin, so any little bit helps.
