Roughly 0.0015% of the U.S. is used for solar farms. For context this is 1/52 of the land we use for landfills

None of this is inconsistent with what Will said. “Republicans got so racist after the country elected a black person that a previously niche faction of conservatism ascended and replaced the faction that believed in multi-cultural liberal democracy”

I recognize I’m in the very small minority here but I just don’t think it’s healthy individually or for the country as a whole for people to believe, based on one contextless document, that Trump and Epstein killed a baby and dumped it in Lake Michigan

The most annoying thing about all this Epstein files discourse is how people are pretending we are getting new information. Trump flew on Epstein’s plane a bunch is not new information! We knew this years ago!

Aside from the visual issues with the Epstein letter idk how everyone can be so credulous about its contents. Dear Fellow Pedophile, you know who else is a pedophile? The president Donald Trump! Anyways I’m going to kill myself. Goodbye. Come on!

A lot of people are falling for some real glonzo shit here. It doesn’t resemble his handwriting and is postmarked Northern Virginia despite purportedly being sent from NYC to Arizona

so the existence of this letter has, actually, been written about before - the question is whether it’s authentic or not because, uh “I killed myself and Trump is also a pedophile” is pretty clear if so

this is my take, the fact it's postmarked three days after Epstein died and anybody can get mail returned to a sender that isn't them, and it reads too clumsily on the nose

Even at this late date, there appears to be a failure to understand that some of us do not dislike Trump only because he is not implementing our program—we literally hate unchecked power & the desire to impose a totalizing ideology on society.

"How dare the USG not adopt the position that America Bad" is, I think, kind of a hallmark of immature anarcho-nihilistic "leftism," and that's the real problem with the essay, I think. The politics are bad! Very simple.

Less than 12 hours later we got a perfect example of this where a bunch of people that know better agreed that Gavin Newsom had voted (?) to force schools to out trans students b/c a journalist with 250 followers, let’s be charitable and say misunderstood, something a GOP rep said

Yeah it’s a seemingly small change but: 1) US electricity demand has been basically flat for 25 years; 2) a 4.5% change almost overnight is a lot!; and 3) it’s not evenly spread out and the U.S. grid is regional and in some places very localized so national change isn’t really a useful metric
