We had every element of the vibe coding dilemma in "Elementary, Dear Data" (ST:TNG S2E3). The computer tries to make a "new" Holmes-style mystery, and it's just an unconvincing mashup of plot elements from other Holmes stories. The chief engineer gives the computer vague but dangerous instructions.

I really don't like this 25A medicalization talk. "Fail a mental fitness test"? That frames this as if it's some unproven possibility of a particular mental illness, which is totally irrelevant. I don't care what boxes he checks in the DSM-5. That he's unfit for office is not a medical diagnosis.

We keep pushing for impeachment because it's required of members of Congress by the oath they swore when they took office. As a veteran-founded org, those oaths matter to us. (LOTS.) The American public assumes that because he has not been impeached, he must not have done impeachable things.

True already this year, we'll see more of it next year: you can (wrongly) disparage impeachment as useless because it'll fail in the Senate or maybe not even pass the House, but if Congress literally has nothing else to do because all of their powers are useless, might as well do more impeachments.

The principle of the matter is of course more important, but it's not even a case of principle vs. politics. This is idiotic on the politics. There's no good argument, grounded in any sort of real evidence, that forcing votes on impeachment would be unpopular or backfire or anything of the sort.

I'm sorry but you can't get both the racist vote and the antiracist vote. And it's really fucking disappointing how the Democrats don't even have faith that there are enough voters who aren't racist that they just need to mobilize. Trump won once and they thought the soul of America is racism.
