We don’t talk enough about how the AI bubble is going to seamlessly transition to tech-based state surveillance and oppression of the working and dwindling middle classes as the wealth class steals more and more resources and power and as the climate worsens.

As a former academic, I always love the idea that the Democrats and politics are being pushed toward "Marxism and the extreme left" by a group of workers who are so exploited and live so precariously they're taught how to get on food assistance and are terrified to give low grades.

One of the prevailing worries for years was that with misinformation or deepfakes or AI videos people wouldn’t be able to tell what was real and what was altered. But what got missed was the larger problem: that people wanted and needed to believe the lies being fed to them.

There it is. Radicalization among Middle and Wealth Class MAGA is partially driven by an unbearable and deep-seated unhappiness that they don’t understand, couldn’t name, and is being released through violent fantasies that will turn into actual violence.

Trump will die before the full realization of American fascism is reached. These are the birth pangs. It will get so much worse unless we do something. We should and we must. Take stock of what this feels like, how unacceptable this is. Devote yourself to fighting it.

One of the great untold and most massively important stories of this moment is that the Right Wing authoritarian movement is predicated on abused people fighting like hell to make sure that abuse and trauma continue forward and even accelerates. It's about hurting kids and ruining their lives.

We created a military state capable of widespread murder and oppression. In the past, that cruelty enjoyed the veneer of respectability, but what’s being exposed now is what this has always been and what cannot be allowed to continue.

This is one of those things that rarely gets talked about that has had a massive effect. As fields like journalism, art, and academia were collapsed and living expenses skyrocketed they came to skew increasingly toward people whose families could afford to supplement their income.
