On top of everything else, Platner's video just now is horrible. He suggested something was nefarious about these allegations hitting before just the primary, then the drop-out deadline. It's perfectly rational that an abusive person's victims don't want that person to wield a huge amount of power

brain poisoned, gutter misogyny. 1) that there is (thankfully) no norm for releasing the play-by-play of personal messages in cases like this and 2) the detail about being explicitly told not to come over and coming over anyway does not in any way complicate this story

what a surprise. again, he reacted like this when the Nazi tattoo was revealed! he wasn't contrite, there was no actual acceptance or suggestion of change, it was pure entitlement and anger. All of this should have been obvious.

This is true and it is tragic: it can happen to absolutely anyone, no matter how good a parent you are. Just telling yourself to always look in the backseat when you get out of the car isn't enough: your brain can create false memories when stressed or sleep-deprived.

I know this is not enforceable but I think anyone who says anything like, "I believe women but I am suspicious that this woman is particular is paid/coming forward for attention" should have to cite examples of multiple women who have made money & success out of accusing high-profile men of rape.

In rape culture, everything a woman says means yes and nothing she says means no. This seems to assert that though she said not to come over, said no repeatedly, struggled against Platner, an ambiguous prior comment constituted irrevocable consent. Not a shocking breach not to include it.

One of the findings in my research is that there is never enough evidence to satisfy people who want to offer a perpetrator impunity. They can always dream up a new way to blame the victimāand ignore all the other damning, relevant evidence by cherry picking some small detail that shouldnāt matter.

My defense attorney reaction? This makes it so much worse. I cannot imagine a universe in which I would want evidence that a person had been explicitly told not to go to a person's house in a trial where they were accused of breaking into someone's home and raping them.

Gross. Expressing a need for a therapeutic service, and clarifying that you don't want it to be provided by someone, is not even remotely anything like consent.

Once again : What women on the left already knew before the Epstein files + Platner is that men can imagine a world of class consciousness (Chomsky), a universe more expansive than ever before known (Hawking), a world where you can live forever (Attia) but not a world where women are fully human.

"why didn't she come forward about the rape earlier" Because police don't do anything about rape most of the time, they try women for "false accusations" some additional percentage, and what was she supposed to do, upturn her mental health only for some judge to give him a suspended sentence?
