I do think the continual desecration of our public monuments and the use of our public spaces for private gain, (not to mention the lingering trauma of the assault on our democracy Jan 6 2021,) is a serious public harm that has to be reckoned with.

Already seeing cis "allies" saying "well it doesn't exist, so what harm does it do to say he's against it", like it doesn't show weakness and cede to Republican framing on the issue. Like we didn't see the GOP employ the exact same tactics on abortion, which Dems likewise ran from

I think it should be between families and their doctors but surgery itself is exceptionally rare: Out of 121,000 US youth diagnosed with gender dysphoria in a five year period, just 0.6% received surgical care (per a Reuters analysis of EHRs). Just 14% received any medical treatment at all.

Libraries also show that it's possible to organize and credit the production of knowledge without reducing credit to ownership. Cataloging, citation, preservation, and circulation all make research more available as a public resource, not more exclusive as private property.

It's exactly this. These pieces only serve to reinforce the Republican caricatures of Democrats. Whether it's "Democrats need to stop talking about climate change!" or "Democrats need to stop campaigning on dang pronouns," these are already things that pretty much aren't happening.
