Maybe this is just being Pollyannaish and not knowing enough about foreign policy but is there a way we can ever have alliances that donāt include countries committing active genocide?

I agree with this and while Iām not a polling expert by any means, although I have used polls for working on campaigns, I find MiC very dubious. Poor quality questions, with polls that seem egregiously designed for clickbait.

Absolutely no hate meant to this person, but I rather disagree with this. Some people might do it for this reason, but I think for a lot do people itās genuinely because they really care about trans people and think it makes the world a better place for us even in a small way.

Case in point. I consider myself a pretty open minded and easygoing person for the most part, but Iāve been radicalised on this partly by Helenās fellow travelers. I donāt think trans people have to give up the one inch of supportive social media we have to bigots in the name of āheterodoxyā

This is why Iām rather wary of some of the āBsky is too intolerantā! Thinkpieces. Ofc normal people should be welcomed to talk about hobbies etc here - but Helenās made it quite clear time and time again her issue is that the āin-group opinionsā here are pro trans.

i agree with all of this, my concern is many centrist types don't view criticism from their left as legitimate they get normal pushback on here, fall down crying, & go back to twitter to be yelled at by nazis (who are allowed to have opinions)

As much āhateā? Iām so sorry but I canāt take seriously the idea that (admittedly occasionally insufferable) on here give as much āhateā as neo Nazis who post pro holocaust propaganda and hard right MRAs who post non consensual AI porn of women they dislike. Please letās be serious

Something that really bothers me about others on the left (Iām sure this applies to the right/centre too but maybe I donāt notice) is how people insist on describing events as they wish they were rather than as they are. It helps no-one - facts are value free.

The way the transphobic moral panic, laundered via a particularly reactionary brand of feminism has just been so neatly reworked for racism is really astounding. Like I thought theyād try it, but I didnāt think it would be *so* smooth for them

If this is actually what a GRC means, then why canāt we have self id? Whatās the serious answer to that? Why would they put so many administrative barriers, and refuse to reform the GRA if this was the only purpose of a GRC?

I know Germaine Greer is transphobic, but the Female Eunuch is still a seminal text and when she said āWomen have very little idea of how much men hate themā I really think she was right at the time. Now we have the internet I think we really *do* know now.

Something that I think gets lost here, which I think Sunak also couldnāt understand is that I think the public view Starmer in the context of what came before, rather than as a fresh start. So thereās a cumulative effect where they same as just same old same old - and that adds to the anger

The thing to understand is no compromise would be enough for the GCs. It is not enough that they are allowed to exclude trans people from single-sex spaces. Everyone else must be forced to do so. It is not enough that they are allowed to speak their views. Everyone else must be forced to listen.

So much of the modern reactionary movements really are just as rooted in a certain style of atheist pseudo logic as they ever were in religion. The current obsession with sex essentialism both in terms of transphobia and general misogyny calls to ābiologyā are exhibit A of this

More in Common are just such a weird polling company. The way they phrase questions is super dodgy as to gain maximum clickbait value vs quality insight. And they only ever release in graphic form, they rarely share the data for further scrutiny. Something up them just rubs me up the wrong way
