the one that annoyed me the most, and which followed me around for the longest, was the woman who wrote a book about shagging 12 men in a year, my friend if you're going to want me to spend £10.99 and read 80,000 words then I'm going to need you to actually put a shift in

Was at the pub when a friend said "have you seen St John of the Cross' 'Ascent of Mount Carmel'? I've always found it to be quite... Phallic. But I've looked and nobody's written about it! I don't think they've noticed!" And I looked it up like "how bad can it be if nobody's noticed?" This is it:

Reformās new position on indefinite leave to remain is even more extremist than Donald Trumpās crackdown on US immigration. If any of Reformās political opponents fancied saying they publicly, that might be nice. Handily, itās even true.

think that realistically I would have always been deeply, deeply worried about the rise of far-right ideas in public discourse but I truly never expected this level of blithe elite complacency, turns out I do feel worried but mostly I feel like I'm going insane, watching them do.......nothing at all

do think that if you don't even believe this to be true then......what are you doing in politics? you've clearly reached levels of nihilism which probably make life feel quite deeply empty, why bother being in a job that requires you to try to make things better in that case

Retrospectively removing indefinite leave to remain would be immoral and economically damaging. It would tear families apart. Attacking it as āpotentially illegalā is completely beside the point. Argue with the (awful) idea. Donāt try āwell, actually you canāt do thatā.

The annoying thing here is that the Lib Dems talk policy quite a lot and get ignored by the media, which is what Davey's stunts were a response to in the first place. I don't think he's addicted to stunts. I'm sure he'd love it if his policies got covered

Tony Blair used to talk about the difference between the 3-second, 30-second & 3-minute conversation - the point being that simplistic policies, that poll well, collapse under the more sustained scrutiny of an election or time in govt. So what happens when there is *only* the 3-second conversation?

ah I don't like this at all, I actually think the vast majority of pornographers are men who don't meaningfully care about the safety of women at all, I really wish, with all my heart, it weren't the case, but if you believe "porn people are all good" then you live in such a small online bubble

wrote about this last year and sure I wasn't in any way the only one but imo people voting for populist politics in the 21st century *is* a sign that they do just have too much faith in institutions, as opposed to not enough - they want to have their little tantrum but assume things will just hold

this is something you just have to live with if you are even barely well-known online; people make up elaborate stories about you in their heads. it will always happen and you cannot give a shit about it, only stomp on it if they try to spread these weird tales to anybody you actually know.

I have to speak my truth: you can't call Zack Polanski "Hypnoboobs" Calling him "Hypnotits" is funny because it's a reference to the fact that he once claimed hypnosis can make breasts bigger and, crucially, it sounds like "hypnosis" "Hypnoboobs" does not sound like it, it doesn't work Thank you
