At the end of each year (for many years now) I usually write a thread of all the stuff I have done but this year I am wondering if I should basically just write "lol. lmao" instead.

When I was 17 I was outraged at the existence of hereditary peers. Ten years on and it's the non-hereditary peers I now find a lot more concerning.

I really dislike the insistence on this narrative because for me PBs were exactly what I needed, and the same is true for many other trans/questioning kids. HRT should of course be available to those who can consent on an informed basis, but let's not pretend there aren't kids who need PBs.

The thing to understand is no compromise would be enough for the GCs. It is not enough that they are allowed to exclude trans people from single-sex spaces. Everyone else must be forced to do so. It is not enough that they are allowed to speak their views. Everyone else must be forced to listen.

As I said recently in The Guardian: "Despite their hopes to the contrary, anti-trans campaigners have not won the hearts and minds they believed the Supreme Court would give them" So they turn to this; desperate, fascistic calls for the destruction of those they hate (framed as ideas, not people).

The revocation of citizenship is a fundamental and brutal discretionary power of the state. One of the more depressing themes in recent judgments is how the courts nod-along and shrug when faced with this brute exercise of fundamental power, rather than subjecting this power to anxious scrutiny.

This was a lovely project to work on, as we rounded off what has been an incredibly challenging year. To receive messages like these has been incredibly heartwarming and are vindication of the work that we poured in to bringing joy to trans youth.
