In this paper, we introduce an improved version of NanoSeq, a duplex sequencing protocol with <5 errors per billion bp in single DNA molecules, and use it to study the somatic mutation landscape of oral epithelium in >1000 people www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Thank you for thinking of us. It’s been a rough ride. My lab lost two R01s, and as painful as that is for us, we are just one drop in a big bucket of terminations. HMS is doing everything they can to help us in the short term, but we need long term solutions - please keep up the conversation.

Today is my last day at the @uoe-igc.bsky.social in Edinburgh, as I'm starting my own lab in Munich as part of the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK), DKFZ and the LMU. I'll continue to focus on DNA damage and mutagenesis to determine their role in somatic evolution and disease.
