One of the things we argue here is that the priority should be demanding "no war." Not "hold a vote" or "follow procedure." A lot of young people will completely destroy themselves attempting to mimic the medication-induced, unnaturally thin physiques that celebrities are normalizing. I don't like critiquing people's bodies, but the norms being reinforced here will prove deadly, and it's fucked up.

The fetishization of a sickly level of thinness has reached such disturbing heights. I'm afraid for young women and girls who internalize this shit. It feels as bad as the 90s, when I was a teenager. I remember sitting in class and hearing very thin girls talk about how Cindy Crawford was "fat."

senator taylor is such a good target for a progressive challenger. she fought preschool for all, prefers means-testing, and doesn't believe in voter-initiated ballot measures.

It's hard not to read this in the context of the Labour by-election loss. The votes are there for progressives who fight, not for progressives who are a pale shadow of their right-wing opponents.
