Day 15: rode to dinner as a family to inner SE Portland!

This councilor, who we’ll still just call Councillor ‘Ryan’: he doesn’t even hide his allegiance at this point. The second he defies the metro chamber: he for sure won’t see elected office again.

Day 13: it’s been a slog this week, but a highlight has been picking up the kiddos daycare and enjoying the later sunsets together as we ride back home

NEW: Portland Councilor Loretta Smith allegedly fired a staffer for union organizing. An unfair labor practice complaint, filed today, claims Smith showed increasingly hostile behavior to the worker following the union announcement, culminating in his termination last week.

I’m only half joking that the mayor should have to go to the historical society, grab the Portland Penny and flip it to decide council president if it remains a tie after 3 votes. It worked well once: it can work well again

Day 12: rode around with neighbors🚲🧤☀️✅

Shouldn’t the southbound cars here have a no turn on red? Technically a bike could be using that left turn box (and a truck may need to oversteer into that painted box!)

Day 11: pretty standard day of riding: ride to the park (Farragut Park), ride to grocery store (North Portland Freddie’s), ride home (to overlook). Lil man eating an apple for most of it🍎

Day 10: big ride to SE Portland’s Splendid Cycles. Gotta run across the Tilikum, get my bike fixed, grab some wings, see a protest. It was great

Day 9: last day of the first week at new daycare! Still figuring out where to park the big rig but happy have a solid/safer route between here and home👶❤️✅

Day 6: daycare drop off, kid in tow. Couple chilly billies this AM! But staid dry🧤🧤🧣

Day 5: first day at new daycare! Picked up the goods midday and went on a small sunny ride back home. Promptly napped of course☺️

Day 4: Multimodal ride home with the FX2 + @biketownpdx.bsky.social on the new 4th Ave bike lanes w/ @jennabikes.bsky.social. It was a post date night on the Portland Spirit🚢🚢🚢

Day 3: dropped off some cans, went to the Hollywood Trader Joe’s and enjoyed the sunshine the whole way☀️☀️☀️

Day 2: rode one of the zippiest @biketownpdx.bsky.social I’ve ever risen from dropping off a one day car rental. Bonus: got to cruise past traffic along the new 4th Ave protected bike lane💪✅

I feel like I am missing something about people who take their kids to a science museum, explore truth, and maybe get acquainted with taking care of our planet, only to turn around, get in an SUV and blast CO2 all the way home and teach kids to ignore all they just learned.
