Next grocery trip, buy one extra loaf of bread to freeze, one extra lb of butter, a couple lbs of beans, pasta, & rice. Start finding food banks & donations. Buy extra flour & sugar—even if you don’t use them (& can use them). Potatoes of any kind keep a while. And all this: 👇

Spring has sprung and Easter is just around the corner, so it’s time for my yearly reminder: if you own cats, DO NOT bring lilies ANYWHERE into your house. Even just breathing in the pollen or drinking the water from a vase can be fatal to kitties.

I think a reasonable thing you should do with loved ones, friends and people you are dating is talk about how everyone will adjust to higher gas, grocery and travel prices. My mom and I recently agreed I should not buy a used car and just use public transit more.

They want to police our genitalia and run tests on our bodies to “prove” we are women, at which point they will still deny it. This is why the only feminism is trans-inclusive and why transphobia and anti-trans discrimination should be a top political priority.

I am sponsoring a racecar in Vermont, driven by a young woman from my town. The entire hood and back bumper have been reserved for whatever pro-library message I'll put on there. $600 total. 🏎️ I crowdsource this fun project every year. Chip in? Venmo: @iamthebestartist or DM me for other options.

This is part of why THE SECRET AGENT has stuck with me since seeing it. We don’t know the exact timeframe or what the protagonist has endured since the initial event and enemy he made, but we know from the initial scene at the gas station no one official really gives a shit anymore.

A fundamental message that I've landed on in my "News Media in the Misinformation Age" talks that I give at public libraries is that, in the US right now, it's much more profitable to be in the lies/misinformation/spin/propaganda/BS/demagoguery business than it is to be in the truth business.

Every police "use of force" policy is in place for a very good reason. But cop shows present them as obstacles that get in the way of justice being done. In real life Detective Stabler is Derek Chauvin, and DA Jack McCoy is the DA that let Kalief Browder be abused in jail for 3 years while innocent

When The U.S. Government Tried To Replace Migrant Farmworkers With High Schoolers
In 1964, a program that brought migrant Mexican laborers to the U.S. ended. So the U.S. recruited American students to pick crops instead. When they saw their living conditions, strikes ensued.
