I didn't get into it in my latest @theflytrapmedia.com piece but it's telling that most of this supposed estrangement crisis stuff deals exclusively with the behaviors of mothers, daughters, and daughters-in-law. Estranged fathers and sons are not, apparently, in the same "crisis." Wonder why.

This is a good model. I also wouldn't mind having some kind of aggregation service that lumped a lot of my news into one giant subscription, and I'd be fine paying a lot for it, because I do read a lot of news, and it's sort of the cost of doing business for writing a modern history podcast.

More places need to have non-subsctiption options. I cannot justify the cost of a subscription but I can do one-time payments for single things! Let me pay you one time to read that article I am interested in!
