363 pregnant, postpartum and nursing immigrants were deported b/w Jan 2025 and Feb 16, DHS confirms. 16 miscarried in detention. 121 actively detained as of last month. These are the first numbers we have on how many pregnant, postpartum and nursing people have been detained under Trump.

These states were advancing a different argument than the two abortion-providing organizations (Planned Parenthood and Maine Family Planning) that dropped their challenges to the “defund.” This feels like an admission that any legal challenge is dead in the water under the current Supreme Court

Lifting stories from smaller outlets with no credit is a systemic practice that predates independent journalism and actively undermines the work of state and local reporters, of course, but devaluing independent journalists when legacy media are failing the public is an extremely shitty move.
