I have been added to my cat's WhatsApp group. The whole street has a group so they all know where he is and who has given him treats already. He has a better social life than me as proven by the fact that this is the first group chat I've ever been in.

Today I’m feeling very lucky, a few short years ago I didn’t realise my life could look like this. Surrounded by fab humans and found my person… Also cats, forever grateful for cats.

Living with cats is just constantly hearing a sound from another room and saying "what are you doing in there?" in a loud voice.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but it's perfectly acceptable to answer "books and pastries" when someone asks what your plans for the weekend are.

Feeling vaguely human today, have high hopes for a drop in temperature this weekend. I mean I’m REALLY excited by the prospect. Because I don’t do the hot. I’m a pale and interesting shadow dweller. (Not a vampire)

“Good day, sir. I’d heard you’d recently come into possession of some bread. I see that I was not misinformed. As it so happens, I too enjoy baked goods. Might you be persuaded to part with a small percentage? I would of course offer fair compensation at the current market rate.”

Just a friendly reminder that your desire to open a quaint bookstore on a cobblestone side street in Edinburgh that doubles as a café and triples as a cat rescue is valid. Don’t allow anyone to disrespect you by telling you otherwise.

The crows recognise me now. They know I have dog treats and they like my dog treats. If I'm at the park there'll be dozens of the sweeties stopping by for a snack. I think the other park goers think I'm Odin collecting reports.

Woke up at three in the morning because the bedroom door slammed, sleepily asked beloved if he was ok. On discovering he was fast asleep next to me pondered the likelihood of murderers/burglars lurking in the hall. Did not investigate.
