Hard to believe that in what used to be one of world’s most prestigious newspapers, neither the NYT writers nor editors appear to know what the not-so-obscure acronym NATO stands for. (Hint: it’s *not* the below) BTW, a whopper like this probably would get you fired from a college paper in Ireland.

Social media en toto is losing relevance + utility. We will not see another "global water cooler" like peak twitter again in the medium-term. This is not specific to Bsky. Threads has a broken algo AND the worst of the griftfluencer class. These are just the times we live in. New things will emerge

Watching Artemis II earlier compelled me to try and find this: my one great shot from when my mom pulled me out of school to go to an overpass by NASA Ames/Moffett Field to watch Endeavor fly by, atop the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, on its way to its final home in L.A. Unforgettable.

Only a couple of months ago, I reported about a "vibe shift" in physics, towards feeling that powerful quantum computers were 1) definitely going to happen and 2) going to happen within 10 years, not a generic "decades". Now that timeline might have to be revised.
