Asking "Do you think this looks good?" is such a fun reaction to slop because they will never simply say "yes" in response. They'll either equivocate or try to avoid answering entirely with a subject change. They don't want to commit with a yes or admit with a no. Lets admit when things look bad.

How about a Shrek game, where you play as Shrek, and have to keep everyone out of your swamp to protect your peace. As new mob types draw near you've got to adopt new strategies that will work on them, but gameplay gets complicated as you have to deal with multiple at once, with limited resources?

"We made the product worse and also more expensive. Why aren't we generating infinite growth?" seems to be such a common exasperation these days. People genuinely struggle to figure it out. Like its a real mystery. Someone call Robert Stack.

There are likely going to be several contributing factors here but one I suspect is an increasing proportion of people being able to game on existing hardware like their mobile devices, relegating dedicated gaming hardware like consoles to be more of a niche for power-users.

Love it when a product has two tiers; a basic free version with no AI, and a premium paid version that adds a lot of AI features. You're telling me I can get the better version AND not pay for it? count me in!

In my experience as a game marketer, IDK if (re)launching your struggling game a week before Christmas is going to really set it up for success and yield the best results. Anyway for this and other valuable insights, I'm available to hire.

I wish more people got invested in their English and Art education. We'd be still be having conversations about media literacy or the nature and value of art, but we could actually engage in them in some meaningful way. These aren't new conversations but I feel they've gotten very shallow lately.

In gamedev, if you're using a placeholder asset, best practices involve marking it as placeholder so garishly and offensively clearly PLACEHOLDER that you can't possibly miss it. Also flagging that asset in the dev process so it can be identified quickly before the final build.
