Just got to read Spider-Man: Noir by @eriklarsen.bsky.social and Andrea Broccardo. It's REALLY good and worth your time. Even tho it's set in the late 30's, it FEELS like Spider-Man. Also, there is Nazi punching, so gotta love that!

As you know, I am not a big fan of mixed-case lettering in comics but there is one use I do think works--and that's for faux-typewriter voiceovers from reporters or private eyes. In word balloons--please, no--it looks like ass for a variety of reasons--but this works reasonably well.

Me and the family went to downtown Chicago over Labor Day weekend. We walked the streets, played in parks, and rode public transportation the whole time. Never felt unsafe or even uncomfortable. The city was absolutely beautiful and we had a great time.

Part of what annoys me about the MCU is that all the costumes look like they come from the same line of athletic sports wear. It makes sense for The AVENGERS because all their stuff is designed by Stark Industries, but all the costumes from Asgard to Wakanda have the same basic MCU aesthetic.

I hope I live long enough to see costume makers in Hollywood get over putting textures all over every superhero uniform. Not every outfit needs to look like it was stitched together from old basketballs. Just...stop.

Watched From Dusk to Dawn for the first time. I went in knowing absolutely nothing about it other than Quentin Tarantino was involved and George Clooney was in it. I was not prepared for that. Sometimes it really is best to see a movie with no expectations or information.
