At dinner, my dad and I sat next to a couple on a date and truly, straight women are soldiers. This man never stopped talking. Just monologuing, saying factually incorrect things, and complaining about lawn mowing even though he works out daily. It was so bad my dad remarked on it!

Just because someone has known you a long time or happens to share your name or DNA, doesn't mean they understand what motivates you, moves you, or what you need. Though they might very well understand precisely what buttons to push to trigger, manipulate, or demoralize you.
