I actually do like @mattyglesias.bsky.social quite a bit but I think he's someone who thinks he's too smart to let himself be affected by the swamp that is Twitter. Sadly like most people who think this, he is wrong. Twitter will cook the brain of most of us.

I bet a candidate could do well with “yeah, I said some awful things online when I was younger, but I see why it was wrong, and I’m familiar with extremist spaces online, how young men get radicalized by them, and what we can do about it.” Less good is “it’s wrong of you to care about what I said.”

Wouldn't it be better to run pro-choice Democrats who speak about abortion like pro-life people. As in, politicians who don't minimize the gravity of abortions that pro-life people feel, but still espouse pro-choice policy as being good for the country. Essentially, safe, legal, but rare.
