New York needs more homes, because more people deserve to experience New York. (and it would lower rents!)

I had this same experience last year when I visited Manhattan for the first time since 2014. And that’s why I live in New York, now.

The Adams admin is trying to kill supportive housing. Under FDM Randy Mastro they’re trying to stop Just Home, which would bring more than 80 affordable homes to Morris Park. This flagrantly political move is a desperate attempt to rescue the Mayor’s doomed reelection campaign.

This should make NYC extremely embarrassed to still have single-family zoning within walking distance of subway stations.

Congratulations to our friends in California for passing SB79, which will allow new homes to be built near every rapid transit station in the state. New York has some catching up to do — Albany ended the 2025 session in June without passing a single zoning reform bill.
