At neighbourhood meetings opposing density & calling for more consultation, someone will ask the crowd "Why aren't young people here?" The young ppl are being priced out *today*. If they expect a likely move within a few years, they'll be somewhere else before NIMBYs are satisfactorily consulted.

This comment after another cyclist was hit in the neighbourhood by a driver running a stop sign has been stuck in my head for a while. Someone was on an ambulance stretcher, and still a roundabout is for slowing bikes, not preventing drivers from running through the side street intersection.

19 years after it was first conditionally approved, all levels of government have finished signing off on the necessary steps to build a school in Vancouver’s Olympic Village. A final year of debate and planning was required to raise the number of floors for the school from 3 to 4.

We need to stop reinventing the wheel we know how to build stacked, larger, family sized homes on a single lot. No need to get more creative, or overthink this. Just build what we always have. They’ll sell, they are beloved, they need to be allowed again

Our longtime volunteer @rhifaux.bsky.social was hit by a driver yesterday on the way home from a road safety workshop at city hall. She is home from the hospital and recovering with a broken wrist. We're grateful it wasn't worse, and outraged it happened at all. More to say soon.

A couple years ago this guy's property tax increase was a story. The deferral program would have allowed him to not pay *any* property taxes out of pocket for over 20 years with the increase in assessed value.
