watched John Carpenter's directorial debut "Dark Star", a dark comedy about 4 astronauts on a mission in deep space. i enjoyed it, though it's less of a cohesive whole than it is a series of bits, but some of them are very Carpenter. with some nice existential horror towards the end for good measure
