My mum just said to me "You should be hung like a horse". When I challenged her over saying such a thing, it transpires she thought it was a punishment horses got. Turns out she's been incorrectly using the phrase since the 90s in various settings

Someone in a Teams meeting just said “It’s the old chicken and the egg question isn’t it? Why did they cross the road?” then realised what they’d said and turned their camera off.

I, too, feel the hollow ache of loss. Weary to my core from many weeks of triumphant highs, anguishing failures, and dogged striving. (Finished my lastest play-through of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild last night.)

Is the use of justified text alignment ever truly justified? I dont like it. It feels like the reader's flow and rhythm is being interrfered with to please the whims of someone judgeing page layout by the tidiness of the blocks and not how they support the meaning of their contents.

I have not decorated for Halloween. The decorations have been brought up from the basement. They're all homemade or customized. They've been cleaned & organized. Some need repair, but could easily be displayed as-is. I love Halloween, crafts & decorating, but have not put them out. This is my life.

I decided to tidy up my email inbox, so everything was labeled, and lots of filters were set up for different types of emails, and everything was removed from my inbox, which is now just for yet-to-be-labeled new emails. Surely this is what what doing drugs must feel like.

Look, I'm not bothered in the slightest that some royal jewels were stolen from an art museum. In fact, I'm mildy tickled by the news. Jewel heists seem so charming and fun compared to other Current Events.

As a kid I watched The Parent Trap(1961), It Takes Two(1995), and the Parent Trap(1998) in the space of a few years. After the 3rd I just kind of assumed that movies about separted twins trapping their parents was some sort of hollywood rite of passage all studios and actors had to do at least once

Flying cars are the perfect example of a point solution: trying to solve a systemic problem (traffic) with an individual product (fly over the traffic). But traffic is not a technology problem; it's a social problem. Remote work, congestion fees, and dense transit-connected housing solve it better.
