Funnily enough only listened to Storm Warning a few days ago! Got the Chimes of Midnight novelisation for Christmas, and after finishing it it put me in the mood to finally buckle down and properly listen to all the early McGann/Fisher stuff

What a good idea. As it’s McGannuary I had to pick the first 8th Doctor audio story and Sam Jones’ first adventure as a companion - Bounty, by Peter Anghelides. It’s the kind of “test drive” adventure now common in the C21 series showing Dr8 as a frantic improviser. And McGann sounds so young!

This ties in so well with my classic who watch because I’m on the chase, which introduces Steven Taylor! And straight after it’s the time meddler which is his first time in the Tardis haha

Innes Lloyd: Memory Box is edited by Charles Norton from Innes' surviving manuscripts and diaries, and will be released in 2026.

The Innes Lloyd documentary is absolutely first rate. Also, delighted to spot Frazer Hines’ excellent taste in literature.

I managed in my forties to find a way to make a living from doing the thing my brain is broken for, and both I and (I like to think) the world are better off for it. Imagine if I could have done it in my twenties, when I had energy, instead of destroying my health for decades with shitty jobs.
