Volunteers and community crafters have come together to create a poignant tribute at Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire. More than 11,000 hand-crafted poppies adorn the Chapel of St Mary the Virgin in honour of those who have served and sacrificed. We will remember them.

Good news and fluffy owlets from our team in the South West! Working closely with the West Cornwall Ringing Group, our ranger team has recorded the most successful barn owl breeding season in Cornwall. A total of 21 chicks were raised, a clear sign of a thriving population.

We're delighted to be working with MJC-Associates to record the graffiti & inscriptions at Stoneacre. The house is a medieval timber-framed building, with many later alterations to the fabric, including those undertaken by Aymer Vallance, who presented the house to the National Trust in 1928.

This is the stuff of nightmares. This fungus, sometimes known as zombie fungus, has turned this spider into a zombie. After infecting its host, the fungus influences the behaviour of the spider, making it leave its lair to die in an exposed position where its spores can infect another spider.

The scariest thing here? Running out of scones.

Know what's happening here? Created in 1592, the Molyneux Globe at Petworth in East Sussex is the first terrestrial globe made in England. It's undergoing the process of microfading, a non-destructive conservation technique that measures the light sensitivity of historical objects.
