Growing up a trash ass part of the Midwest, a highlight of everyone’s year was going to the county fair and paying $5 to take three swings at an old Mercury Cougar with a baseball bat or a sledgehammer. I believe the fire department raised about half their budget that way. Just a thought.

the cycle usually goes like this: 1. Dems refuse to seriously challenge corporate power 2. The electorate gets frustrated, votes Republican, believes populist lies 3. Dems point out things are shitty, get re-elected, lack the backbone to challenge corporate power 4. rinse, wash, repeat

Remember the fuss when The Martian was nominated in the comedy categories of the Golden Globes? That was 1,000,000 x closer to a comedy than most of the musical/comedy nominations this year. If I Had Legs I’d Kick You is a psychological drama with a couple of laughs in it.

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.
