Didn't make a lot of progress today. Organized some yarn and put some in the donate pile. Supervised the housekeeper and gardener - that's exhausting. Leftovers for dinner, knitted a bit, ordered more books in the series I'm reading, watched Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and football. Time for bed.

Very sports-bally Sunday. Baseball, Nascar, football - I watched them all. Also went out to breakfast at the usual place, did a load of laundry and took the folded clothes upstairs, knitted, finished my book, cuddled a cat, watered inside plants and changed the ones displayed. List still not done.

These are some sort of aster, I think. Tiny little lavender wildflowers, no more than 5/8" across, in clusters. Suddenly popped up all over the place this week, more since we got almost 3" of rain on Thursday.

Today was a lovely lazy day. We met friends for a leisurely breakfast at our favorite pancake house, I put a fancy chicken in the crockpot for dinner before heading upstairs to knit and watch baseball. Read for a bit, ate dinner, watched Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, now watching more baseball.

Friday was moderately productive. Drove to Concord for ophthalmologist appt and contacts. Went to "grill and chill" with SO. Came home, waited for housekeeper for 2 hours (she has a loose understanding of time) then called and rescheduled for Monday. Made dinner, watched baseball, knitted. The end.

#BlueSkySupperClub Tonight's dinner was Shrimp Chowder, and it was really good. Potatoes, carrots, onions, shallots from the CSA box, garlic from a friend, shrimp from the freezer via Crowd Cow. Took about 30 minutes from chopping to eating!

I wore rigid gas permeable contact lenses (aka "hard") for 56 years, and today I switched to soft lenses as prep for cataract surgery. Vision is ok and details are still clear but nothing looks as crisp. It's like a painting vs a photo - the edges are soft. I hope I can deal with it for 6 months.

A busy-ish day, made special by rain. Yoga early, followed by tea and word puzzles, then knitting group; it was good to talk with my fellow knitters. Got most of the kitchen island cleared off finally - yay! SO ordered dinner so I spent the evening reading, knitting, watching baseball. Good times.

There is water in the canal for the first time in several weeks, and some of the plants that grew in the riverbed are now gone! It will look better tomorrow after we get some runoff.

Rain is pouring now, and has been for several hours! I think (hope) thd river level is up a couple or 3 inches too. We need a week or so of this, but it's predicted to stop early tomorrow morning. Loving it while I can!

It was a good day. All 50+ skeins of yarn found new homes in about 5 minutes at Knitwits, although the shawl kit took a little longer - they were sure it wasn't meant to be given away! Picked up our fancy organic chicken, did 2 loads of laundry, leftovers for dinner, now baseball.

The number of people who texted me a screenshot of this in the last five minutes is bigger than a breadbox.

Not as productive today, at least based on the list. Shawl was blocked last night, drying now. Yoga this morning, mah jongg this afternoon, mini-split maint scheduled, dinner and ham radio business meeting, and I packed up a bunch - about 50 skeins and 1 shawl kit - of yarn for Knitwits tomorrow.

First load of laundry is drying, dining table is decluttered, decorating for autumn is started, negotiating mini-split maintenance date, desk for kitchen is possible but may be pricey, new book started, dinner in the oven. Probably have time to block the shawl before dinner is ready.

Change of seasons so change of dishes! Might as well use them, it makes me ridiculously happy. Table set for dinner tonight which is very simple meatless Monday fare: salad, delicata squash, sweet potatoes for me, russet potatoes for SO, fresh rye bread from a local baker, and apples with honey.

New week, same tasks cuz I didn't do so well completing them. Laundry, fridge, build more bookcases, decorate for autumn, declutter dining table, block new sweater and shawl, arrange mini-split maintenance, empty boxes, transplant roses, put yarn away, see if desk for kitchen is possible, cook, etc.

SO has retired to his suite for the night and I'm finally indulging myself by watching football. Put a bookcase together this afternoon - it's been sitting around for over a year - ordered it right after surgery last year and it was too heavy for me to lift. 3 more different sizes and styles to go.

#BlueskySupperClub Meatloaf is what's for dinner tonight! SO loves meatloaf and I really should make it more often; tonight I used bison and turkey dark meat with celery, onion, mustard added. Roasted cabbage, delicata squash, new potatoes, and carrots from the CSA box. Leftovers too.

I love my husband, I really do, but I don't understand why, after 28 years together, he still doesn't remember that I don't like mayo on sandwiches, in coleslaw, in potato salad, or anywhere. Is it a guy thing? Deli antipasti salads in vinaigrette always make me happy,and he's always surprised.

Tech wins! Final score 34 - 10. This is a very different and much better Texas Tech team, and the backup quarterback was amazing!

Halftime and Tech is leading 10 -3. Defense is playing very well.

Knitting and watching Texas Tech football. So far so good. Laundry and weekend chores later. Still working on the list from Monday.

#BlueskySupperClub Tonight I made Eggroll in a Bowl - ground chicken, cabbage, zucchini,onion, garlic, carrots, green beans, celery, ginger, sunflower sprouts served over brown rice. I added Sriracha to mine. All veggies except garlic and green beans from our CSA box; those from different friends.

Settled on lunch. Open faced BLT on English muffin with Cabot Sharp cheddar, tomatoes and mesclun lettuce mix from the CSA box. Thought about adding an egg and decided not to mess up a pan. Cape Cod salt and vinegar chips.

1st day this week w/ no appts or meetings so I'm doing word puzzles, looking at Noro magazines, drinking tea, and pondering breakfast/lunch. Lovely! Planning to do laundry but waiting for SO to finish his shower so I can use hot water - he's doing something messy w/ ham radio antennas in the attic.

Today was early yoga class, and then I came home and drank 2 perfect cups of tea before showering and heading off to knitting group, which was wonderful as usual. #BlueskySupperClub Dinner started as a Canneloni Bean Soup, recipe from a friend. No canneloni beans, used pintos. Fresh tomatoes, carrots, kale, onions from the CSA box, yellow squash and garlic from friends. Chicken, red onion, spinach sausage and spinach and cheese tortellini. SO loved it!

Tomorrow should be fun. Invited to the Concord Weavers Guild meeting, which lasts until mid-afternoon. Not a weaver although I have 3 looms and would like to learn. Then in late afternoon, the Decades online quilt class 80s kickoff session airs live; I'm already 5 decades behind, but who cares.

SO had appt with audiologist and otolaryngologist today; good news is hearing loss is no worse, bad news is he's still profoundly deaf in one ear, and there are very few options. Acupuncture was suggested so we'll look into that. He was worried I might not be able to cope but I have him so it's ok.

Yup - gonna take all week. Managed to attend woodcarvers group with SO, cleaned the worst shelf in the fridge (FIFO vs LIFO provides some interesting results), started a new book, made scallops for dinner, knitted and watched baseball today. More tomorrow.

#BlueskySupperClub NYT Soy Butter Scallops with Wilted Greens for dinner tonight. Used chard instead of spinach because it came in our CSA box, brown rice with carrots because we like it. SO liked it and so did I! First time cooking scallops - not as hard as I'd heard.

Today's plan: woodcarvers group with SO, laundry, fridge cleaning, block new shawl and sweater, store yarn in sewing room, scallops for dinner, start a new book, water plants, make needlepoint cushion for old chair, transplant roses. Actually, this list might take all week!

Sat in a rocker and knitted on the new patio-on-the-mesa for the first time! Dreary almost drizzly day made it cool enough. Can definitely see spending autumn afternoons here! Light breeze, occasional ATV noise, and it was lovely. River is really low - we need a few rainy days.

Bit of a reaction to the Covid and flu jabs yesterday - achy, headache, chills - so taking it easy. Coffee (rare treat), knitting, reading. Paid mid-month bills so I can be a slug. Hope to shake this and get some serious yarn organization completed today; I know how I want to do it, finally.

#ShowMeYourKnits Another WIP! Started this week because I felt like it - I don't need more WIPs. Well-aged stash yarn, had it for 30+ years, bought all the store had, assuming I'd be able to make a sweater (rookie mistake). It's gonna be a great shawl.

Pedi and facial - check. Housekeeper did their thing. 2 truck loads of bittersweet to the mulch place, 25 ft cleared, hundreds to go! Covid and flu jabs for both of us. Late McD's Filet O'Fish lunch, so I'm taking cheese and crackers upstairs, knitting and watching baseball is it for the evening.

#BlueskySupperClub The last of the wonderful pot roast I made on Sunday. Sort of a cross between a stew and a hash, with onions, new potatoes, and bell peppers from our CSA box. Fresh green beans from the farm where we get fancy chickens, and fresh ripe red tomatoes from both places.

Burned my bagel this morning, tea bag exploded so my first cuppa was chewy, yoga was hard. Then SOs truck was ready at the shop, he brought me a slice of pizza for lunch, I ordered yarn of the same dyelot (so they say) to make a sweater longer, and my knees are still feeling ok. It's all good.

Busy day, lousy baseball since 4 of 6 teams I follow lost. Good dinner at the fishy dive restaurant even though the classic car shows ended a couple of weeks ago. FedEx delivered my wine, and the next book on my list actually arrived today. Another decent night's sleep would be the cherry on top.

USPS is going great here! 3 eBay purchases arrived today, one made 9-6 and one made 9-1! One item didn't arrive last week so I made a query online and they called me with the info less than 30 minutes later. Perhaps a benefit to living in Tiny Town.

I've done my 2+ things for the day, and I'm still not done. Went to KnitWits and took a trash bag of yarn to donate, much of which was snapped up. Came home and changed cars (SO doesn't like me to drive my Saab over the baddish dirt roads) and drove to the farm to pick up our fancy organic chickens.
