I've said it before but we need to somehow restore the social cost of racism. It's always been there but it's spreading at least partly because people aren't made to feel ashamed of it any more.

Just to be clear how little I’m exaggerating, in 2016, the UK Government actually advised trans people against travelling to certain US states due to the implementation of bathroom bans.
@bphillipsonmp.bsky.social
is now implementing those same bans across the UK.

Holding a garden party with 30 relatives for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary on the weekend. Today was the day of 'the jobs we really don't want to do but have to get done' (finally over the worst of the jetlag) & so now having weeded, clipped mowed, rechipped and cleaned the bbq we can relax!

I just checked the Instagrams of the two “experts” referenced in this story. The comments are filled with livid people who’ve seen this reported on BBC Breakfast this morning, begging parents not to take the dangerous advice. The BBC may well have saved lives here.

Saw next door's 3 (nearly 4) year old son earlier. He was telling us all about his football that he'd kicked over the fence when his mum came over holding their cat Max. We were cooing over Maxxy (who is a very rarely spotted void cat) when said 3 year old proudly announced "Max has a butthole".
