As we approach #OFMDRareShips Week, in case you didn't know - the term rare ships/rare pairs refers to how present a ship is in fanworks and the fandom, not whether or not something is canon! Canon ships like Swede/Spanish Jackie or Oluwande/Zheng are rare ships, and very welcome in our event! 🧵

Something that I often see is folks saying that a ship isn't rare because it's canon - and this isn't true!! Something like Olu/Zheng, which has 107 fics on Ao3, and only TWELVE when using otp:true, is absolutely a rare ship. MANY canonical ships are rare ships - and we want to give them love too!!
