This cloud looks nothing like the shapes that were up there when I started painting. But that’s the nature of working from mercurial subjects- the fourth dimension creeps in and I can’t help but end up using recognizable shapes pulled from my subconscious. This totally resembles a mouse. 6”x6” oil

I’ve been observing it on my studio wall ever since, thinking about how I could amp it up a bit;I settled on several glazes, a cool horizon, and reorienting the buoys to be parallel.
