The city has spent ~$5M above budget in the past month to deal with the occupation, with roughly $130k per day going to MPD overtime. So when mod CMs/the mayor tell you that we can’t afford rent relief, they’re telling you that they prefer to spend your tax dollars on this instead.

Today at City Hall, an ICE agent parked in a no parking/accessible transfer spot. Around the block were two ICE agents, one parked in the MFD Chief’s spot and another in a sheriff’s spot. While ultimately inconsequential, a microcosm showing there’s no law too small for these turds to break.

I am in awe seeing our neighbors care for each other - showing up every day keeping each other safe. Our Council Members are present with us & we are taking care of each other. But our systems are failing us & our mayor is absent everywhere (other than the media). It doesn’t have to be this way.

Two weeks later, I just got on the E Line and the driver asked if I lost my wallet on the bus recently. When I told him it was me, he asked whether I got it back and made sure that nothing was missing. What an absolute legend of a public servant.

This morning, federal agents arrested my friend Jamael Lundy for exercising his first amendment rights along with members of the media. He was violently awakened by federal agents, and I’m disappointed to see the Trump administration weaponize the justice system. 1/

Sitting in the vestibule of my kid’s school on my shift to watch out for federal agents hoping to kidnap people and reading an order for supplemental briefing. That classic pastime.

Sec. Simon is among the few statewide DFL leaders, along with AG Ellison, who are meeting the moment. We’re so lucky to have him in office. He should be our next governor.

If they wanted this to end they could leverage their capital to do so. They don’t actually want the ICE operations that are widely unsupported to stop. They’ll still let ICE stage in their lots, let Bovino terrorize customers, and let their employees get attacked by ICE on the job.

Rest in peace Alex Pretti. You will be remembered as a hero. I saw my immigrant neighbors out tonight mourning. You’ve touched the hearts of our immigrant community. We will not rest until justice is served.

ICE just confronted us in our car saying it’s our first & final warning. There’s nothing illegal about driving your car safely on Stinson, Lowry, or any street in our community. They are purposefully surging at school get out times terrorizing our families. Ice needs to stay away from our kids.
