Update to this. Two weeks later and I’ve put another 200 miles on my bike, which is 200 fewer VMT on our streets.

Today, I officially filed to run for Mayor of Minneapolis. It’s clear that residents are ready for new executive leadership at City Hall that will work with and fight alongside us to ensure our city remains a place where people want to live, raise families, and start businesses.

This is why the mayor’s campaign is flailing and challenging the endorsement process and bringing out big name endorsements in July. They know that even though they have all their PACs, landlords, and old guard political machinery behind them: people > money.

Supportive anecdata: since I got my new e-bike three months ago, I've put nearly 900 miles on it and roughly 25 miles on our car.

I sincerely believe there is a massive untapped market of people that haven't ridden bikes since childhood who are one e-bike ride experience away from realizing how pleasant and useful they are for getting around urban areas.

Relatedly, I’ll note that it’s been a week since CM Chavez first asked Chief O’Hara to name which elected official(s) spread misinformation on social media on the day of the raid. CM Chavez has since asked the chief three more times and hasn’t received an answer. Hmm, why could that be?
