Thanks to everyone for reaching out about how important it is to them for Pilllar to stay open. I’m happy to report that we’ve found a path forward for them to open back up their venue side tomorrow!! The massive show of community support all across the city for Pilllar was so heartening to see.

Our beloved neighborhood cafe & music venue Pillar Forum has been shut down by the City for fire code violations. They were working on the problem but the City decided they can’t host music anymore. Pillar was there for us every day during the Surge. Chip in a couple bucks so they can pay staff.

“13th Avenue NE is saved!” With $8 million secured to help redo 13th Ave NE and mitigate the flooding there, I think the neighbor quoted is right! Deferred maintenance isn’t the most exciting, but investing in the basics will keep Minneapolis vibrant and the place we all want to live.

A year ago, a phone call awoke me with news that colleagues had been shot and assassinated. Since then, we’ve all better learned the stories of how the Hortmans and Hoffmans made and make Minnesota a better place for everyone to live. I’m inspired by them and their families’ strength. 1/2

Had a celebration for our Edison graduate yesterday and dang, are we lucky to live in a community with such awesome people. Teachers who truly show up for kids, neighbors who love and look out for each other, kind, fantastic friends and family (kids and adults!). Grateful for Edison, Mpls and MN.

Get outside and visit a state park! Saturday June 13 is Free State Park Day. While every day is free if you arrive by foot, bike, or other non-motorized conveyance, Saturday will be free for those arriving in a motor vehicle.
