ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives. We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

One of the first lessons I learned in organizing is that you celebrate victories as they come, even if they’re incomplete. Border Patrol being pulled off our streets is a massive victory for and by the people of Minnesota. It doesn’t make our work less urgent or needed, but it’s a big-ass win.

Can confirm. I spent ~15 years at the MN US Attorney’s Office as a paralegal/investigator focusing on Medicare and other fraud against the govt. MN was always near the bottom of the rankings. Was there fraud here? Yes. Was it high compared to other states? Absolutely not.

Not a stepdad, but the guy who stepped up. I taught the young staff member, who is driving for the first time at age 23, how an alternator charges your car battery that the infotainment system runs on. The older staff member explained how to check battery health with red & black leads. Proud friend.

Earlier today, I held a press conference with @governorwalz.mn.gov to update Minnesotans after the fatal killing of Alex Pretti and our efforts to rein in ICE here in Minnesota. Tomorrow, Monday, January 26, our case to end Operation Metro Surge will be heard in federal court at 9a CT.

Look for the helpers in the reflective vests. They help the Minnesotans released after they are detained. Federal agents take detainees’ documents & phones and don’t ever return them. Innocent victims are dumped with no resources, wearing whatever they were taken in with at -5°F windchill.

Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump. Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

They think they can provoke us into abandoning our values. They are wrong. We will keep the peace. We will secure justice for our neighbors. And we will see this occupation end.

Tonight, my Minneapolis neighborhood gathered on street corners and in our local park to mourn Alex Pretti. This is our FOURTH vigil in eight months. No community should have to go through what we're going through.

Alex Pretti loved his country more than we will ever know. He gave his last breath for the care of his neighbors. May his memory be a blessing and a call to action.
