If ICE is in fact finally leaving Minnesota, that would be a welcome development, but it does not make us whole. The Trump administration has lied to the public about why they came here, what they did to people, and about the Minnesotans they killed, assaulted, and made disappear.

Ending this operation is not enough. We need justice and accountability. That starts with independent investigations into the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, economic restitution for businesses impacted, abolishing ICE, and the impeachment of Kristi Noem.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

Ever since 2020, Minneapolis has been the target of an irreconcilable gang of haters (most of them from the exurbs. Concurrently, many of the city's poobahs saw narrow partisan advantage in letting the city take a light beating. Then the narrative slipped the leash and now look what happened.
