I rarely have good news to report about this streetcar system, but this intersection is slated for transit lanes and a ban on left turns this year. hopefully it serves as a model for the rest of our troubled streetcar system! Things are slowly changing.

We hate to see it. Transit riders deserve better. This month, the TTC reported that only *61%* of streetcars system-wide arrived on-schedule. This is one big reason ⬇️

at least half of canada's economy happens in its six biggest cities. the toronto area alone is 20%. these cities all run on public transit moving millions of people to work and opportunities every single day. if transit doesn't work, this country doesn't work. stop the cuts!

Except Budget 2025 proposes cutting funding from the Canada Public Transit Fund towards a more generalized fund, leaving less money on the table for important transit projects and state-of-good-repair 👎 This a step backwards for faster commutes and achieving our climate goals. Not good! 1/4

GO expansion has been so severely descoped & indefinitely delayed by metrolinx + the province that they are instead opting to simply make the existing airport express train (which runs every 15 and is already overcapacity at peak) serve toronto infill stations to satisfy 2-way 15-min train service

*sigh*, day 6: game 3 went on for nearly 7 hours and 18 innings, a record length for a world series game 😮‍💨 another record of similar length: in 2025, los angeles is the city with the greatest length of weekday traffic congestion, with 7 hours + 51 min per weekday of traffic jam 🚗🚗🚗
