Very mild take, Google needs to figure out some heuristics, use some combination of speed and frequency, for what transit service they show. Having the WCE on the map is much less useful than the RapidBuses. The tangel of streetcars in Toronto is less legible and you might as well show all bus lines

People question whether building more housing can lower prices, but I think it’s useful to flip that around and ask: are you saying that you can block housing without pushing up prices? Is that plausible? Can I block the production of other goods or services with no effect on prices?

Fare capping is one of the simplest ways to make transit easier to use and equitable for those who can't afford to float a month's transit fares upfront. It was my biggest disappointment that TransLink didn't even give it much more than a foot note in their fare review

It's telling that the Gilmore routing for the Metrotown-North Shore BRT has no value since the only benefit they can list, other than direct service to the Gilmore area that is a quick 2 minute ride from Brentwood, is connections to 3 buses that it will connect to anyways via the Hastings routing.

A real life example of how busy Brampton Transit can be! This was at the first stop on the route after 11 at night. Two more buses came right behind. We took the third, which still had many seats filled. Frequent service attracts riders. Would love the 407 route back, though!

Invest in buses! Vancouver's 82km RapidBus network moves 81,500 people daily at 24.5km/h with just modest queue jumping and bus lanes. This outperforms Portland's MAX light rail in overall and per-kilometer ridership for little infrastructure cost, if you are willing to invent in operation funds.

Looking into it the Finch West LRT is going to have an average speed of just over 16kh/h. Vancouver's RapidBuses are all faster than that on average. The LRT will be more reliable speed wise and needs the capacity but for $2.5b you'd think being faster than a decent express bus would be a priority

TransLink has released their routing and station locations for the King George Blvd and 200th/Lougheed hwy BRT routes. So far I am liking what I am seeing. I do want to see what they are proposing for the bus lanes, curb or centre running and what will replace the R1 along 104.
