Do it, split the vote. It’s not like Bradford was going to win anyways, might as well raise your profile at his expense.

Ontario Liberals are being cheated by a system that's left them third in seats twice in a row despite winning the second most votes. It is time the party takes electoral reform seriously. Great to see

Meet the team of the recently formed Bike Parking Alliance of Toronto! (BPAT) We're a team of 13 students across the GTA, who came together around a simple issue: Toronto just needs more bike parking and better bike parking, and it isn't there. That’s what we're trying to fix. (1/3)

15 years ago, the typical first-time homebuyer in Ontario was 31. Today, they’re over 40. For a generation of young Ontarians, the ladder wasn’t climbed, it was pulled up on them. That’s why I’m committed to restoring The Dream Of Homeownership Before 35. Here's how

I took the survey to express my support for the Church St. pedestrianization and you should too!!! ESPECIALLY because the City has so obviously tilted the survey against the project. This makes Carney’s island airport survey look positively fair and balanced.

Okay Toronto started the public survey on Church Street pedestrianization. I need you to tell the city it’s great. We only got 92% positive on Kensington market and it failed, let’s blow that out of the water.

Gould Street, Toronto. Students fought for a decade to pedestrianize it. In 2010 city council voted to enact a 1 year pilot, and by 2012 it was made permanent.

In Montreal, it was the Gay Village that did the city’s first major pedestrianization (rue Ste. Catherine Est). In fact, this year is the 20th anniversary. Here’s hoping we get an accelerated timeline in Toronto. (And go visit Church Street!)

Church Street Pedestrianization in action on a busy Saturday night! Keep in mind this is the weekend after Pride festivities which is usually quieter cuz all the gays are tired, but people still decided to rally and come out to enjoy the street, which would usually be reopened to cars by now.

Yeah, the idea of being a local really isn't a thing in Toronto. Maybe it's that (as suggested below) so much of our growth is via immigration, or amalgamation, or that neighborhood identity is so important. But I like to think that we just value being a good neighbour more than where you're from.

I did Uber Eats via walking once upon a time and they only give short distance orders to the walkers. It still baffles me that my most profitable time was in the mornings delivering Tims and Starbucks just down the street.

Sneaky Dee’s is saved. Now what? This is a win for everyone who showed up. But a bank stopping a demolition isn’t policy. Zoning forces development onto major streets, venues get insufficient support, and Sneaky Dee’s still has no heritage status. Demand systemic change.

K so it’s really simple in Toronto, first you have to figure out which of the 25 wards of Toronto you’re in, then which the park is in, then you have to check if the pilot project is on, then -

Pedestrianize more streets! Not only is it not novel, it's also not complicated — or shouldn't be. But doing it right requires the city to implement a formal “pedestrian street” designation — something that quixotically has taken years to develop. Why?

Matt Elliott: Other cities close streets to cars all the time. So why does Toronto get tripped up by the idea of a pedestrian street?
Creating a bit of long-term dedicated space for pedestrians in Toronto is not something that should require years of study.
