Wow! Danielle Martin is an incredible candidate for U-R. She’s a strong defender of the universal Public Health system in Canada while being an advocate for reform. Her pragmatic message has been that how we do things matters, and that many improvements don’t have to raise costs. Future HM?

Whether you agree or not with the premises here, it's refreshing to see a progressive party leadership hopeful outline a real vision they'll look at campaigns and policy through. The OLP and ONDP have been running a simplistic "Doug Ford bad" playbook for 8 years that is simply not resonating.

I was a long time City Hall follower but knew little about zoning until 1 chat with Eric during a pandemic Zoom. That's why I joined More Neighbours when he started it. Many were on the Yellowbelt's case before us, of course, but Eric motivated people to get involved politically, make change happen.

Well, isn’t this frustrating. The city published it was open to alternative solutions to allow single stair buildings. Someone has tried to put a design forward… and let’s just say it’s not going great.

Toronto's digital services are stuck in the past – a patchwork of portals, paper forms, and outdated processes. From paying taxes to renewing permits, residents face a maze of separate logins, different formats, or long wait times.

It's not that boomers are any more nimby than any other generation, it's that they have more time than any other generation to spend on opposing housing. Just look at the nimbys of a new rental project downtown Toronto, or 5 new single-family homes in Aurora - lots of abundance in grey hairs.

Toronto cannot keep relying on downtown towers and suburban sprawl while the old suburbs closest to the core remain frozen in time. These inner neighbourhoods – with the best transit, schools, and infrastructure – have actually lost population since 1970.

Congratulations Eric! We’ll be watching with interest from Calgary. We may not be a big city yet but we are growing fast and can certainly learn from one.

Councillor Carroll claimed that consultations were just virtual with "a couple of More Neighbours members" phoning in. Grossly false. North York members turned out for the in person consultation and others around the city. Hugely dismissive of the time and effort that our volunteers put in.
